June 11, 2023 by Susan Roberts Leave a Comment

Finding the grave of Harry Bird, a soldier from Penzance, west Cornwall. Harry died on 23 April 1917 from wounds received at Vimy Ridge about two weeks earlier – 9 April 1917.  He was one of four brothers who fought on the Western Front. Only one survived the war.  He is buried in Wimereaux, not far from Le Toucquet.
