Flowers: Penponds Graveyard

December 11, 2014 by Susan Roberts Leave a Comment

These hydrangeas were blooming in October 2014, the centenary year of the start of the war, in the graveyard at Penponds Church, near Camborne.  The church is still open every Sunday but does not have its own vicar. Life in the village of Penponds has changed dramatically in the past century. We will be exploring the life and times of Canon James Sims Carah, who galvanised efforts to create an expensive and impressive war memorial in the church porch.
