Dance cards from WW1

May 4, 2015 by Susan Roberts Leave a Comment

These dance cards have pencils attached so they can be easily marked. They reveal which dances were popular at the time. The evening ended, of course, with a rendition of ‘God Save The King’.

The owner of one was booked up for the evening. A distraction from the daily horrors of news from the Western Front at the height of the war.  These items were kindly loaned to Heart of Conflict by Vivian Thomas of Redruth.
