William Bosanko (back row, second right) of the 25th Field Ambulance travelled widely in the years after the war. Like many of his companions at war, he could not find work back in Cornwall to make ends meet.
So in the 1920s, he travelled first to the Gold Coast of Ghana (where Holman’s – the world-famous engineering firm based in Camborne) had opened an office. He worked in mines there before going even further afield – to Burma.
He eventually returned to his homeland and ran a pub at Park Bottom, Redruth.
